A Willow and Haller recently enjoyed a day trip to The Denbies Wine Estate, situated near Dorking in Surrey. This beautiful wine estate is set over 627 acres - which is three times the size of any other wine estate in the UK.

The rolling vineyards are situated on the North Downs, an area famous for its chalky soil, in a valley of south facing slopes. The slopes are what make it possible for Denbies to produce its very tasty English sparkling wine, which you can learn all about on the ‘Sparkling Wine Tasting Experience', one of many tours and wine experiences that Denbies run.

Our Willow and Haller made the most of the sunny weather and enjoyed an outdoor ‘Vineyard Train tour’. This lasted 50 minutes and was a fun ride on the Denbies train through the vineyard with commentary giving some background on the Estate and wine making. There are two restaurants on site, a farm shop and a gift shop where you purchase Denbies’ various wines as a delicious souvenir of your trip.

A pretty little farmhouse set in the heart of the vineyard offers bed and breakfast if you fancy a unique weekend away!  The original farmhouse has been tastefully refurbished to accommodate seven, modern, double en-suite rooms.  Full English breakfast is served in an airy conservatory, overlooking the garden and vines.
