Did you know that even 5 minutes of stroking a pet could reduce stress levels significantly? But what if you’re unable to fit a pet around your life? Are you destined to feel constantly frazzled? Fear not, London’s getting its very own Cat Café. Purr-fect timing, no? Please mind that awful pun.

Australian entrepreneur Lauren Pears has raised £100, 000 from crowd-funding to make this catty dream come true. Already a hit in Asia, this café is expected to be no less popular. The cats themselves will be from shelters and will only have the best in food, healthcare and petting’s.

It is a business and there will be a small cover charge (to reduce high-turnover as this may stress out pets) and beverages to purchase. However, this is a small price to pay in comparison to the prices incurred from full time owner ship of a cat. Vet bills, food, toys, scratching posts and many other costs.

When asked about her inspiration, she said she had noticed on her way home, her fellow commuters would stop and pet the cats from the area. She also said because she rented, she couldn’t own a cat even if she wanted. So, the cat café came to fruition.

It’s not all business with this venture, it’s about comfort and having the company of a fluffy little feline. Fingers crossed, ‘Lady Dinah's Cat Emporium’ will be open later on this year and we’ll have somewhere to unwind, sip a cappuccino and rub some undoubtedly satisfied bellies.
