If we go by the saying “When in Rome…” then let’s face it if you had a home in the 90’s then it was to buy a floral sofa. We can all remember sinking into one and waiting for our favourite show to come up on the big box in the corner. Now we can watch our shows whenever we want online, the chubby TV has been replaced by a slimline one, and the comfy sofa is probably either recycled or claimed by nature by now. If it isn’t well maybe it’s time for a change?

It’s been some time since the 90’s (don’t I know it!) and popular furniture fabric patterns have changed several times. That’s why a plain, single-coloured sofa is always a good choice. Yes, zebra patterns might be all the rage in 2013, but if you’re purchasing a great quality sofa think about how it’ll look after 5 to 10 years. Although plain-coloured sofas look very modern and sophisticated on their own they can always be spiced up with a selection of cushions if you like a little more of an edge. Cushions can be easily changed depending on the latest trends or the latest moods – it’s far less painful than going big with a sofa print and wanting to change it a few years down the line.

Say Goodbye to the Nostalgic Floral Patterns

They’ve come in all shapes and sizes through the year’s and although sofas upholstered with 90’s florals are in decline they’ll always have a place in our British hearts. With this in mind I got all nostalgic and put together my favourite 3 popular patterns from the 90’s! Let us know what yours were (or perhaps still are!).
