I’ve always loved the atmosphere created by quality hand-crafted wooden furniture. There’s a certain feeling of reassurance knowing it’s been created to the very highest standards of British furniture design. There is the matter of style though: when we think about traditional wooden furniture, we typically imagine dark, heavy, ceiling-high bookcases, sturdy 50 square foot desks, and cupboards with doors as big as the one on the front of our garage.

Because of this although classic British wooden furniture is practically ageless because of its exceptional quality, we tend to furnish our homes with lighter, more modern designs. You don’t have to go and buy a minimalistic square table just because it’s all the rage though. Even the most traditional British manufacturers have shifted their furniture designs to better suit the fashionable light and airy interiors.

Traditional designs and materials have been adapted to fit more modern styles and colours without compromising the exceptional quality. That’s exactly what we believe at Willow & Hall: we maintain the core values of British furniture-making, including excellent design, quality materials, and very high attention to detail, to create furniture that’s as handsome and comfortable now as it’ll be after 10 or 20 years.
Below, you’ll find a few interiors which include traditionally designed furniture but have a light and airy overall look. I love every single one of them!
