Wimbledon is upon us and what better excuse to enjoy the start of British summertime than with a ‘Wimbledon Sofa Party’?!

If you haven’t been able to get tickets for any of the matches, or perhaps have but just want to continue the fun, here are some of our ideas for creating a great atmosphere in your own living room.

Set up a sumptuous  ‘Wimbledon’ themed feast  on a coffee table in front of your sofa for easy access throughout the match. Make or treat yourself to some cakes or biscuits. Plenty of local bakeries are getting in the spirit with themed cupcakes. We love these from ‘the hummingbird bakery’:

A large jug of chilled Pimm's is an obvious must, or perhaps if you’re feeling extravagant a few bottles of fizz on ice.  ‘Pimm’s Cups', a twist on the traditional Pimm’s mix are becoming known as the one of the signature drinks of Wimbledon.

Follow the below recipe to make your own Strawberry Pimm’s Cup Cocktail:

Ingredients:
For the Strawberry Syrup:
450g Fresh strawberries, hulled and rinsed
1 cup granulated sugar

For the Drink:
Ice
One part Pimm's No. 1
28 grams lemon juice
28 grams  Strawberry Syrup
Two parts lemonade or ginger ale
Sliced cucumber, strawberries and fresh mint to garnish

Directions:
1. Make the Strawberry Syrup: Puree and then strain through a sieve enough strawberries to fill a cup. Add the sugar to the strawberry puree and heat in a saucepan, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Remove from the heat and allow to cool.
2. Make the Drink: In a cocktail shaker with ice, combine the Pimm's No. 1, lemon juice and strawberry syrup and shake. Strain into an ice-filled glass and top with the lemonade. Garnish with sliced cucumber, strawberries and a sprig of fresh mint. Enjoy!

Strawberries are in season and quintessentially British so fill a large bowl with them glistening away - just waiting to be tucked into.

All you need now is to make sure the sofa you are sitting on is from Willow and Hall and your ‘Wimbledon Sofa Party’ is complete!
