Don’t you always find that people tend to take up their favourite position when it comes to furniture? One side of the bed over the other, left or right part of the sofa, always the same chair at the dining table – these choices become almost subconscious.
With the armchair though, this behaviour tends to go even further with one person in the household subtly claiming the throne all to themselves while the others don’t dare to sit on it even when said pair of cheeks isn’t at home.
Everyone seems to be content with such order of things – each has their own place after all! It’s a lucky seat to have ear marked though isn’t it – a great place at home to wind down in, get comfortable, and read a book with a nice hot cuppa.
Given then that us Brits seem to love a good armchair it’s easy to understand why there are so many designs out there to suit all tastes. If you’re one for traditional stuff you can always pick a country-style armchair and decorate it with some old fashioned floral prints and even give it a skirt:
