Well ok, Sir Doyle might not have had the world’s smallest violin or miniature pieces of art in mind when he said that but it’s a great quote nevertheless and got us wondering about some of the smallest stuff out there…

Did you know the world’s smallest grown person is Chandra Bahadur Dangi from Nepal, who towers at 21.1 inches… that’s only slightly taller than an average newborn baby; the world’s smallest horse, cleverly named Thumbelina, is around the size of a dachshund; the smallest dog, Beyonce, can easily fit into a Coke can; and unbelievably the world’s smallest species of frog and lizard can sit comfortably on the tip of a match!
